What is this DTG thing?

So you keep hearing about this DTG stuff, what is this and how does this benefit you?

Well, The Art of Tees offers many print technologies; if you are ordering one shirt, we would normally be charging you for screen print…

Well let me start from scratch, screen print is a very common form of print on shirt. Most retail garment use the screen print process to make the shirt you buy. The way it works is if you have a piece of art that uses multiple colors, there is a set up fee per color.

Let’s say your art has 6 colors, each set up for each color costs about $15. So $15 times 6 = $90 just to get it started shirt not included! It’s just how it works. With DTG it is similar to your desktop printer. The difference being that the paper is a shirt. It uses DTG or Direct-to- garment CMYK textile inks.

DTG CMYK Textile Bright VO2 Inks are produced in state‐of‐the‐art manufacturing facilities with high quality standards and testing. They are specially formulated water‐based, wash fast pigment inks that are heat set with a heat press. The DTG Textile Bright VO2 Ink can be used with ALL colored 100% cotton and many high cotton / poly blend fabrics.

Because of this technology we can produce a shirt nearly as fast as you can print this blog.

The Art of Tees can also print on black and colored garments. Which means we can print on just about anything you can do with screen print. For you, the value is that there are no screens or set up fees involved. You get quality art on you choice of quality shirt.

Give it a try. We have the design software so you can even see how your shirt will look before you buy.
Then you can shownit off to your friends and family.
